For those of you who need to call H@H but don't want to pay them 5p a minute (and BT 2p) for the call, especially with long waiting times, the following numbers are their standard rate numbers. If your call plan includes free day time calls then these numbers will save you 7p per minute

01283 504100
01283 501320

These numbers were obtained from www.saynoto0870.com . You just put the 0870 number in the search box and the site gives you the standard number - very useful

And JayneM went one better and found a freephone number AND the complaints address:

"Regarding contacting H@H I have a free fone number if you have queries regarding delivery
0800 917 6853.

Also, they do have a complaints system if you are unhappy with the service (that's all of us then!)
Email the OperationalQualityTeam@healthcare-at-home.co.uk or write to

I should have said before, whatever you do, don't call an 0870 type number from your mobile. The rate can be as high as 17 pence a minute, or even more on some call plans

Thanks Paul....really useful.....I have had dreadful experiences trying to get through to them on the phone. I tried 3 times one day for a total of 2 hours......on the last call I got put through to answer phones after 40 minutes. Dreadful service. I just sent them a letter of complaint and will be telling my consultant and the nurses too. I'm pretty fed up with H@H. They have not been updating their treatment tracker either. I wish this service was provided by the NHS or a more competent company.

Thanks Paul, very useful to have them to hand (should write them down really, but would then mislay the piece of paper!). Nearly Friday afternoon, and after exhausting trip to London yesterday for conference briefing on Disability at Work, am slogging through the last few hours before a lovely cold Becks.
